West Grinstead Neighbourhood Plan REFERENDUM 6th May 2021
Cast your vote at Partridge Green Village Hall, Village Hall Lane, Partridge Green or Dial Post Village Hall, Worthing Road, Dial PostThe Localism Act 2011 enables parishes to prepare Neighbourhood Plans designed to give them a measure of control over what development comes forward in their parishes. It was with your support that West Grinstead Parish Council decided to prepare such a Plan ourselves. After a great deal of work, we have reached a stage where you, the electors in the parish, are now able to decide whether you want to adopt the West Grinstead Neighbourhood Plan or reject it. The decision is yours. The question asked in the referendum is:‘ Do you want Horsham District Council to use the neighbourhood plan for West Grinstead to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?’ The neighbourhood area is West Grinstead Parish and the answer will be either yes or no.The referendum will be decided by a simple majority. If more than 50% vote yes, then the Neighbourhood Plan will become part of the statutory development plan for all of West Grinstead Parish.Should the referendum support the plan, (which requires that more than 50% of people voting agree to accept the plan), it will become part of the statutory development plan for the designated area, (that is the whole of West Grinstead Parish) .
